The town of Halsey was founded in 1892. Located in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills, Halsey is home to the Nebraska National Forest, America’s largest hand-planted forest. Thousands of visitors come each year to enjoy the peaceful beauty of this area and to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Halsey-Purdum service club hosts an annual July 4 celebration called “Halsey Days.”
